Linear Colour Maps
CET-L01 Standard grey scale. |
CET-L02 Grey scale with slightly reduced contrast to avoid display saturation problems. |
CET-L03 Black - Red - Yellow - White heat map. |
CET-L04 Black - Red - Yellow heat map. |
CET-L05 Colour map along the green edge of CIELAB space. |
CET-L06 Blue shades running vertically up the edge of CIELAB space. |
CET-L07 Blue - Pink - Light Pink colour map. |
CET-L08 Blue - Magenta - Yellow highly saturated colour map. |
CET-L09 Blue - Green - Yellow colour map. |
CET-L10 A "geographical" colour map. Best used with relief shading. |
CET-L11 A lighter "geographical" colour map. Best used with relief shading. |
CET-L12 A "water depth" colour map. |
CET-L13 Red colour map for ternary images. |
CET-L14 Green colour map for ternary images. |
CET-L15 Blue colour map for ternary images. |
CET-L16 Black - Blue - Green - Yellow - White colour map. |
CET-L17 White - Orange - Red - Blue map with increasing saturation as lightness decreases. |
CET-L18 White - Yellow - Orange - Red map with increasing saturation as lightness decreases. |
CET-L19 White - Cyan - Magenta - Red map with increasing saturation as lightness decreases. |
CET-L20 Black - Blue - Green - Orange - Yellow map. |
Diverging Colour Maps
CET-D01 Classic diverging Blue - White - Red colour map. End colours are matched in lightness and chroma. |
CET-D01A Diverging Blue - White - Red colour map. Similar to D1 but with darker end point colours. |
CET-D02 Diverging Green - White - Violet colour map. |
CET-D03 Diverging Green - White - Red colour map. |
CET-D04 Diverging Blue - Black - Red colour map. |
CET-D06 Diverging Blue - Black - Yellow colour map. |
CET-D07 Linear-diverging Blue - Grey - Yellow colour map. This kind of diverging map has no perceptual dead spot at the centre. |
CET-D08 Linear-diverging Blue - Grey - Red. |
CET-D09 Diverging low contrast Blue - White - Red colour map. Good in conjunction with relief shading. |
CET-D10 Diverging low contrast Cyan - White - Magenta colour map. Good in conjunction with relief shading. |
CET-D13 Diverging Blue - White - Green colour map. |
CET-R3 Diverging-rainbow colourmap. Yellow is the central reference colour. Colours decrease in lightness and increase in chroma as one moves away from the centre. Do _not_ use as a standard rainbow map. |
Rainbow Colour Maps
CET-R1 The least worst rainbow colour map I can devise. Note there are small perceptual blind spots at yellow and red. |
CET-R2 Reasonable rainbow colour map from blue to red with a small perceptual blind spot at yellow. |
CET-R4 Vivid rainbow colour map from blue to red with a small perceptual blind spot at yellow. Beware, the vivid colours may make you segment regions in your data on the basis of the colours in the map rather than the structure in your data. |
Cyclic Colour Maps
CET-C1 Cyclic Magenta - Red - Yellow - Blue. Alows four orientations/phase angles to be visulaised. |
CET-C2 Cyclic Magenta - Yellow - Green - Blue. Alows four orientations/phase angles to be visualised. |
CET-C3 Cyclic White - Red - Black - Blue. |
CET-C4 Cyclic White - Red - White - Blue. Works well if you just want to visualise +ve and -ve phase. |
CET-C5 Cyclic Greyscale. Works well if you just want to visualise +ve and -ve phase. |
CET-C6 Attractive six-colour cyclic with primaries and secondaries matched in lightness. |
CET-C7 Cyclic Yellow - Magenta - Cyan - Green - Yellow. An attractive four-colour map with quadrants reasonably matched in size. |
Isoluminant Colour Maps
CET-I1 Isoluminant blue to green to orange at lightness 70. Poor on its own but works well with relief shading. |
CET-I2 Isoluminant blue to green to orange at lightness 80. To be used with relief shading. |
CET-I3 Isoluminant blue to pink at lightness 70. To be used with relief shading. |
CET-D11 Diverging isoluminant Light Blue - Light Grey - Orange colour map. |
CET-D12 Diverging isoluminant Light Blue - Light Grey - Pink colour map. |
Colour Maps for the Colour Blind
CET-CBL1 Linear map for Protanopic/Deuteranopic viewers. |
CET-CBD1 Diverging map Blue - White - Yellow. |
CET-CBC1 4-phase cyclic map Blue - White - Yellow - Black. |
CET-CBC2 2-phase cyclic map White - Yellow - White - Blue. |
CET-CBL2 Linear map with maximal chroma for Protanopic/Deuteranopic viewers. |
